Two kinds of loads exist, the resistive load that uses electric motors (found in televisions, lights, ovens, toasters etc.) and the reactive ones (fridge, Air conditioners) that uses electric motors.

You should always be careful when you have electrical generators. There are some important things that you have to keep in mind. First you should not put your generator in any enclosed areas like garage, basement or even inside your house. Generators should have equal and enough space around it. Generators should have 3 to 4 feet spaces around it. It is much safer if you will put this kind of device in an open area because it needs long lasting supply of fresh air. So, do not forget to always read the manual before operating it.
