When setting up a home business online, there are many marketing possibilities to choose from. One good method is email marketing, which has become a fast, easy and effective way of communicating online. If you want a successful home business, you should really consider an email marketing campaign. Email marketing is very popular these days and many companies, whether large or small, use it as an effective technique. What is Email Marketing? Email marketing means marketing through email. It means to send out links to website, sales letters or newsletters to your customers or potential customers using your email to do so. You normally have to create a whole campaign and need to sign up to avoid spam. The best way to do this is a double confirmation, which means your customers sign up on the squeeze page if they are interested and then receive an automatic email, which they click on to confirm they want to join your mailing list. You should provide a link at the bottom of this email offering an unsubscribe option and a statement at the top reminding them that they signed up on your website. 1-Build a List It is important to build a good solid list as you will not get far in the email marketing world without a good list to campaign to. You want to have a squeeze page that will help you generate click from your potential customers, piquing their interest and making them curious to see what you have to offer. You want to have a convincing copy to pull in your visitors and also to put together your list. It is good to not be scared to use bullet points to get your point across and let’s not forget the power of a box with instruction of what they need to do: "enter your email and name in the box below for your free copy of our e-book” (or what ever your eye catcher is; a free 6 day email course, a special free report...). 2-Write Your Campaign Once you have their addresses, the next step in email marketing is to write your campaign. You want our email to be conversational, as if you are sitting down and having coffee with the person while you tell them about your offer. Make it friendly and easy, but be persuasive and convince them that your site (or affiliate product) is the very best. 3-Give 'em a treat You will get much better responses when you offer a free gift with the purchase of your product, make sure you keep it aimed towards the type of product you are marketing. This is always a great way to real the customer in, as people always love free gifts. I have been using this method for some time and I must say it always pulls them in. As the old saying goes “if it’s free, it’s for me”. What is the reasoning behind offering free gifts with their first, second or ever third purchase? They all have their own advantages. With the first gift you are rewarding them for trying your product and with the later gift you are thanking them for their repeat business. 4-Wait After the first purchase wait a few days or a week or so to send another email telling your customers about another promotion. A few days later send out another email with a special offer or offering them a special rate on a product. 5-Remind Them Special Dates Another reason to email is to remind the customer of certain dates. For example, you can email about a week before Valentine's Day to remind them that they need to buy something for their beloved and include a text or picture link to a special offer in your website. Conclusion When you build a great list and construct your email marketing campaign in such a way that you market your product to a list of 400, 600 or 1,000 prospects, you can wait and watch the orders rolling in! Timing is critical in email marketing, so make sure that you space your emails in such a way that you do not flood your customer's inbox, but don't let them forget you either.
