Family Costumes For All Occasions

By: Raymond Plona

There are many holidays and special events that may happen in a single year. Both children and adults have different ways in celebrating them. However, there are times when wearing costumes to spice up an event is possible. To help them in their outfit needs, theme shops all around the world offer kid’s costumes and plus size adult costumes. These outfits match with a certain season. Thus, there are Santa Claus costumes for Christmas and scary outfits for the Halloween season. There are also costumes that do not need any event or celebration such as superhero outfits or pirate designs.
Kids costumes are designed to allow kids to have fun and at the same time accommodate their particular needs. For example the big pockets are to make it easier for them to place their things and enjoy the rest of their time running and playing around at the party. As for adults, they may not need big pockets as they may look too childish. Simpler cut is expected of adult costumes. Nevertheless, it is entirely up to the wearer to have whatever design or accessories attached to their costume.
Cotton is lightweight thus the most popular material for a costume. The plus size adult costumes are no exception to this. Cotton will make the air flow easily between the skin and fabric thus allowing your skin to breath and sweat easy too. For ladies of different ages, they might prefer something that looks more elegant like satin or silk. The fabric looks glossy and beautiful under light. It will give the body its natural noticeable figure too. Children are usually not fond of these materials so do make sure that your tailor does not use this for the children’s costume.
Colors of costumes depend on the occasion itself. The same is expected of kids and adult plus size costumes. Red is a popular color for Valentine. This symbolizes love and deep affections. Halloween is famous for its pumpkins but black is a dominant color as the realm of ghosts and spiritual beings are always associated with black. For Christmas, red and green are popular shades. They are of course attributed to Santa Clause and his elves.
There are so many accessories to match the costumes. For kids and large size costumes, accessories like bags, hats, and belts. For a complete Halloween look, you can gear up the witch attire with a witch hat and a pumpkin bag. A Santa belt which wide is size makes fabulous accompaniments for your Christmas costume. Pirate costume should require an eye patch and a sword to give it a super sea bandit look. The sword must have all the safety features of a fake sword, as you would not want anyone getting injured.
Fitting is extremely important for plus size adult costumes. Extra care is given on certain areas such as the pants and the arms. The buyer must first try out the outfit before purchasing it. Any known defects can be relayed to the tailor so that the costume can be mended immediately. In kid’s costumes, fitting is also needed. Since these young ones are very active and would love to run around and play even when wearing these costumes, the tailor should be able to support the areas that can easily rip. Some of the costumes that have problems include Santa Claus and witch outfits.
Costumes are not just for kids. Adults can join in on the fun by wearing outfits during special events. To make things even more special, the kid’s costumes and the plus size adult costumes can have the same design. The parents can wear the same outfit as their children when attending the events. This is a great way to bond with the family while having fun as well.
